Summer 2019: Tuesday, July 9 - Saturday, July 13 The Young Writers Workshop (YWW) is an annual five-day camp that brings together up to 45 high school students to study the craft of writing on the UNC Wilmington campus.

The workshop is organized and operated by UNCW's Department of Creative Writing, and camp participants have the opportunity to study with published, working writers-faculty members and graduate students in the department's Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Program.

She writes both prose and poetry, and her creative work has appeared in Extract(s), Pif, and The Wheelbarrow.

Campers should refrain from bringing no more than one (1) suitcase and one (1) personal sized bag to camp. Don’t pack your bedding, have it ready at check-in by purchasing a Linens Package!

They are designed in suites consisting of two double-occupancy rooms connected by a bathroom.

Campers will have various meal options for breakfast and lunch in The Student Center.

We create an interactive and personalized writing experience where kids will be able to publish their own book after creating their own characters, story plots, and book layouts."Children are filled with great ideas.

One of the best ways to express them would be to introduce them to the basic elements of character and story development.

Lessons complemented with time at our character and publishing studios, where students will create characters and illustrations to create 2-3 soft-cover books.
